Your generosity at Blood Donor Center provides the essential gift of life to patients across Western Kentucky. One visit can save up to three lives.
For over four decades, Blood Donor Center has been the cornerstone of life-saving medical care in Murray and the surrounding communities. What began as a small clinic has grown into one of Western Kentucky's most trusted donation centers.
Our mission is simple yet profound: to ensure that every patient in our community has access to the blood and plasma products they need. We operate with the highest standards of safety, compassion, and professionalism — because every donation is a promise kept to someone in need.

Every donation type serves a unique purpose. Choose the one that fits your schedule and saves the most lives.
The most common donation type. A single whole blood donation can help up to three patients — from trauma victims to cancer patients.
Platelet donation, or apheresis, is critical for cancer treatment and surgical procedures. Donors can give more frequently than whole blood.
Plasma donation supports patients with burn injuries, immune deficiencies, and bleeding disorders. Your plasma can be processed into life-saving therapies.
Blood cannot be manufactured — it can only come from generous donors like you. Every donation is a lifeline for someone in crisis.
A single whole blood donation is separated into red cells, plasma, and platelets — each helping a different patient.
A blood donation is needed approximately every 2 seconds. Hospitals rely on a steady supply to treat emergencies, surgeries, and chronic illnesses.
Donating blood is safe and beneficial for you too — a free health screening follows every donation, and regular donors often experience improved cardiovascular health.
You must be at least 17 years old to donate (or 16 with parental consent in Kentucky).
You must weigh at least 110 pounds (50 kg) to ensure your safety during the donation process.
A quick health screening including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and hemoglobin level is required.
Bring a valid photo ID and proof of address. A Social Security number may also be required for registration.
